The 2023 Boston Global Investment Competition (BGIC) brought together hundreds of exceptionally talented students from around the world. Participants submitted excellent investment research reports and demonstrated an impressive commitment to learning, innovation, and community impact.
In the Grand Finale, finalists delivered a 10-minute investment research presentation, followed by a live Q&A session with our esteemed judges. Each judge posed 2–3 questions per student, offering a dynamic and professional evaluation experience. Judges assessed not only the clarity of argument and depth of research but also the students' ability to respond with insight and confidence.
We are proud to congratulate all talented participants and the finalists. Your passion, creativity, and commitment to learning are inspiring.
We thank all students, families, educators, and our charitable hosts and distinguished judges for making BGIC one of the most educational, well-organized, and inspiring investment competitionsin the world.
The competition was more than a contest—it was a transformational learning experience. Finalists demonstrated:
Students reflected:
“Thank you so much to the judges! It was really fun preparing the presentation. I was able to research Tesla deeply and grow my interest even further.”
“The feedback was something I needed. It’s definitely something I can use to improve in the future.”
“Thanks for the really specific feedback for each person—I really appreciated it.”
All participants received detailed feedback- one of the hallmarks of BGIC’s dedication to rigor, learning, and growth.
Judge Albert Wang, – accomplished Investor, industry role model, and Grand Prize Winner of the prestigious Sohn Investment Idea Contest, gave insightful advice:
“You guys have done a ton of work. This industry is very competitive. There are always new things to learn. Really, make sure you have a succinct argument. In the end, every investment decision and thesis should sound very simple. What are 3-5 most important questions that will dictate the outcome of the investment?”
Wall Street Veteran Terry Walsh summarized nicely:
"Great job, everyone! I was impressed, not really knowing what to expect, but you all had clearly done the work, and I think that's the key to making your presentation and your pitches stand out.Typically, people who do the most research and the most hustling have the best presentations, and they also find the best ideas. "
Judge Alan Di Geronimo encouraged students:
“Congratulations! You guys shall all be proud of yourselves. I wish I were as financially literate as you were when I was your age. You all have a bright future ahead of you.”
